Αcknowledgements to The 1959 Mini Register and it’s members.

Monty Watkins “Editor’s welcome” in the Mini World magazine December 2009 edition.

Here is an extract from the Mini World magazine where the editor Monty Watkins acknowledges the 1959 Mini Register and it’s members for all their efforts during the 50 year Mini celebrations.
Many members came from wide and far to make this year a brilliant year for the 1959 Minis.

Monty says,
“Within the 13 2009 issues, we have tried to bring to light more detail about the first Minis, from 1959, and our eternal thanks go to the 1959 Mini Register.  They have helped us find some of the genuine cars and, like any good Mini club, they are actively helping members get their cars back to original specification.  That’s no mean feat as we still do not have a John Parnell-style resto guide.”

Thanks Monty.

Likewise an acknowledgement from Mark Robinson of Mini Magazines “Welcome Page”.

The highlight!  By far our favourite event was the IMM at Longbridge,  for nowhere else did the spirit of the Mini community shine more brightly in all its many guises.  From the highly polished concours entrants, wanting some irreplaceable Mini 50 silverware, to the craziest of continentals, many of whom had driven hundreds of dusty miles to gather alongside their fellow fanatics – we were all there, and all equally as welcoming as each other.  Compare for example, the 1959 Mini Register to, say, the Mini Club Polski – two clubs that represented opposite ends of the Miniverse  at this global gathering.  The 1959 Mini Register has been the hardest working club this year, making sure every possible show had a fine display of some of the very earliest possible Minis.

Hear! hear! Mark.  Well done everyone!
